Rough Cut headlines 2008 Annual Affair

The Omaha Sports Club Annual Affair was held Friday, September 12, at the German-American Society and culminated with three-plus hours of dancing to live music provided by Omaha’s premier band "Rough Cut." OSC’s largest social event of the year had kicked off at 5:00 p.m. with a happy hour featuring hors d'oeuvres and free drinks until 8:00 p.m., which then was followed by a short business meeting.

During the meeting, the club’s nominating committee members announced the club’s new executive officers, who were elected earlier that evening. Lois Dorn was elected to her first term as president, and Bob Godek was elected to his first term as vice president. Thirteen-year club member Sandy Martin was re-elected as secretary, and Pat Martinson was elected as treasurer. This year’s winners of the club’s Man and Woman of the Year awards also were announced during the meeting.

Liz Anderson was selected as "Women of the Year" in recognition of her contributions to the club during the last year. Eddie Donaldson (on the left) and Fred MacVaugh (on the right) shared this year’s "Man of the Year" honor.
